Ancient Milanese Pasta Factory

60 years of quality and love for good pasta

Everything begins in 1956 when Euride Zini, an Emilian pureblood, founds a small pasta factory in the heart of Milan, that nowadays still holds her name. It was fresh pasta, the real one, that had to be eaten immediately or be frozen. Today Zini continues this tradition by respecting the original recipes and by refusing to use non-natural ingredients like colorants and additives. For the conservation of its products it just uses one natural element: cold.

In the brand new pasta factory of Milan the products that have just been made are frozen within a very short time in order to have a long-term preservation of their flavour and naturalness.

1956

Everything begins in Milan, from a small artisan lab…

Pastificio Zini was born.


1969

Technology comes into the picture.

Zini introduces the first machines to cook and knead pasta continuously, repeating the stages of handmade pasta and obtaining the same results.


1973

Sales go very well.

Zini becomes an industrial sized establishment and moves to Cesano Boscone, at the gates of Milan.


1978

The big idea: to freeze fresh pasta just after it has been cooked. Simple and brillant!

Zini is the first company in the world to propose it.


1988

Zini in the world.

It’s the year of the first exports abroad.


1993

Horizons are widening.

Within the new products, the legendary gnocchi patato are introduced. Zini Lunch is created, an innovative concept dedicated to the key players of the fast food sector.


2000

The company’s outlet opens.


2009

The “Collezione Milano” line is created:

An excellence selection created with refined combinations and selected raw materials, it is the leading product for big occasions.


2010

The sauces also arrive.

An innovative and patended product frozen in granules, that completes the offer.


2013

Inaugurated the new pasta factory

With new labs (R&S, Experimental cooking, certified analytical laboratory, technologic hub).


2014

Not only fresh pasta:

here comes the Polenta!


2015

Again new products:

the Zini Cup, the patented Polenta classica and new retail range.


2016

Another step forward.

Opened the new establishment fully dedicated to gluten free products.
