For the sake of the environment

We dream to become 100% sustainable.

We try to minimize our environmental footprint in every stage of production: from raw materials to packaging. However, our commitment is not limited to production, we focus on all little things surrounding us every day (we have invested in LED relamping, installed a power co-generator, selected a fleet of hybrid company cars, eliminated plastic, made eco-gadgets…). Our philosophy is zero waste.

Raw materials? Only the ones you would choose.

Our ingredients come from selected supply chains, preferably local ones, as we increasingly purchase from small local producers and organic products. Our pasta is made using Italian durum wheat, fresh eggs from Italian free-range hens… and nothing more. For fillings and sauces we prefer fresh Italian vegetables, Italian cheeses, meat from sustainable farms, fish. Rice we use in Risidoro is local and comes from Risi & Rane Rural District.

Packaging compostabile

Traceless Packaging

Traceless Packaging

Zini was one of the first companies producing frozen products to accept the challenge of making compostable packaging. We have invested in innovation to minimize our environmental footprint by eliminating plastic from packaging. As a result, packaging can be disposed of as organic waste and does not leave any trace.

Water Footprint

Even consumption of our products is environmentally friendly.

Pasta is cooked before being frozen, which reduces preparation time leading to significant energy saving and considerable water saving of over 95% (analysis conducted in collaboration with the Faculty of Agricultural and Food Sciences of Milan Università degli Studi based on calculation methods envisaged by ISO 14046 Environmental Management – Water Footprint standard).
